Father's Day Wine, Cheese and Barbeque!

Treat Dad right this Father's Day with a scenic trip to Union and a memorable day of wine, cheese, olive oils, ice cream and a Farm-To-Table barbeque.
Join us for this special Father’s Day celebration.
We've invited local cheesemakers who will be bringing a variety of artisan cheeses made from cow, goat and water buffalo milk. State of Maine Cheese Company, a small business that has been handcrafting fine cheeses from milk produced by Maine dairies since 1983, will be sampling their Cheddars, plain and flavored Monterey Jack, Caerphilly and Derby cheeses. Copper Tail Farm, located in Waldoboro, will be sampling their goat cheeses including chevre, ricotta as well as their caramel sauce. Bringing their Water Buffalo cheeses will be ME Water Buffalo Co., including their mozzarella, buffeta and even gelato! Dad will be treated to free wine samples to pair with the various cheese offerings provided by local cheese makers.
We will be offering a Farm-to-Table barbeque with gourmet burgers and pork sandwiches from our own farm raised meats. And, if Dad isn’t a wine drinker, also available for purchase, will be locally crafted beers and our own signature cocktails made from local ingredients.
Also, joining our cookout will be Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegar. Their Basil Olive Oil over ME Water Buffalo’s mozzarella or Herbs de Provence Olive Oil over State of Maine Cheese Co.’s Katahdin Cheddar are just some examples of the pairings you can try.
A wonderful finish to the celebration cookout will be a frozen treat from Stone Fox Farm Creamery. They will be serving up their small batch, homemade ice cream. Drizzle it with a little caramel sauce from Copper Tail Farm; life is good!
While enjoying the food and drink, be sure to check out the antique tractors on display. Members of the Maine Antique Tractor Club have been invited to show off their prized possessions. Ask them about their restoration projects. I’m sure they will have some stories to tell.
Then travel 5 miles through the scenic hills of Union to Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery, producer of wines, ports, and spirits including the popular Back River Gin, to see what combinations they have planned for you.
