Join many of the Maine Winery Guild members as they welcome visitors to enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how wine, mead and other fermented and distilled beverages are being made here in Maine.

Open Winery Day Schedule

11 am to 12:30 pm – Grape Testing & Tasting
See what is involved in ensuring the grapes are at the perfect stage for harvest. Talk will be in the vineyard

11 am to 1 pm – Lunch - Cookout
Gourmet burgers from our farm raised beef will be available for purchase. Cookout will be outside, behind the tasting room.

1 pm to 3 pm – Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms
Learn more, from David Spahr, about mushroom identification, harvesting and usage. Talk will take place in the presentation tent on the open field behind the barn. **

2 pm to 4 pm – Winery Doors Open
We’ll be showing off the equipment used for winemaking, from grape to glass. The winery doors will be open to look around with the winemaker available to answer questions.

All Day
We’ll be offering wine tasting all day and joining us will be Appleton Creamery and Brazen Baking sampling and selling their products.

** David Spahr is an author, naturalist, photographer, forager, and forest farmer. He is the author of Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms of New England and Eastern Canada David began foraging in 1954 and has collected edible mushrooms since 1972.
